High quality and interchangeable 20 mm stainless steel spoons.
Ecological premium handles - made in Germany - ensure a firm grip and healthy hands.
Due to the open tread, an ideal central power transmission with the foot is possible.
All joints are professionally welded and durable.
If the soil is very compacted, you should aerate it (not to be confused with aerating!).
The RISISANI hand aerator is used to poke holes in the soil. You can then simply push the poked out pieces of soil (cors) off the lawn with the help of a snow shovel and compost them.
The now created holes are now evenly filled with lawn sand and the Rasenrakel .
The soil is immediately massively loosened, root growth is thus stimulated and waterlogging can drain away easily.

From the CE handles to the packaging, we try not only to protect the environment with very short distances, but also to support regional partners

🌱 Why should I sand my lawn?
What has been contributing to a dense and lush green on soccer fields and golf courses for many years has long been a must for professionals in the home garden as well: sanding the lawn. The more the lawn is used, the more the soil becomes compacted and uneven. This happens quite automatically over the years, but also already during the construction of a new house. For it is when heavy vehicles drive over the future garden over and over again that the freshly-built homeowner is surprised when seeding that the desired result is not achieved. Those who love and care for their lawns should treat their greenery to a sand treatment at least twice a year during the new installation and also in the period thereafter.
The results after sanding the lawn are amazing:
✔ Compacted soil is loosened by sanding
✔ Heavy soils become more permeable
✔ No waterlogging, as the sand serves as drainage
✔ Fewer problems with moss and weeds
✔ Oxygen gets to the roots better
✔ Uneven areas are leveled and a more even surface is created
What happens when you squeegee the lawn?
In the first step, the sand applied and processed with the Rasenrakel levels out unevenness. Where there are slight hollows, the lawn sand settles. Where there are no unevennesses, it is pushed on by the Rasenrakel level. The result is a more even surface. Over the next few weeks, the sand will gradually seep into the soil underneath and, by loosening the soil (because, to put it simply, small cavities are created between the grains of sand), will provide natural drainage and more oxygen for the roots of the lawn.
Now that you no longer see the sand on the surface, the first successes will appear very quickly, which you will also see on the plant. Very quickly you will notice a lush, strong green of the plants and the roots can "breathe" properly again. The lawn will not only become more even, because the sand levels the hollows, but also denser and stronger.
🌱 When should I sand the lawn?
Sanding the lawn with the Rasenrakel is an effective way to improve the soil and promote lawn growth. But of course, the right timing for sanding is also crucial to achieve optimal results.
The ideal time to sand the lawn is clearly its main growing months: April, May, June, July, August and September.
Why is this period ideal?
During the main growing months of the lawn, conditions are optimal for root growth and regeneration of the lawn. The turf is strong enough to support growing through the sand sites, if necessary, and to handle the stresses of sanding and subsequent maintenance.
Sanding the lawn at this time offers several advantages:
- ✔ The sand can effectively penetrate into the soil and improve the soil structure.
- ✔ Sanding loosens compaction and improves aeration of the roots.
- ✔ The growth of new grasses is promoted and bare patches can regenerate more quickly.
- ✔ The lawn gets an overall healthier and stronger structure.
No rule without exception:
Although the main growing months are, of course, the best time for sanding, but the spring and fall can also be very good for a smaller amount of lawn sand to improve the soil. This can help keep the lawn in good condition throughout the year. Note, however, that growing through the sand areas during these periods may not be as effective as during the main growing months. So, only light sanding should be done here, and trough leveling should be avoided.
🌱 Which sand should I use?
Attention:Basically not every sand is suitable for sanding your lawn! There is a reason why there are so many different sands on the market. And each of them has its own merits. You can find out which sand you should use here.
Which sand should I not use?
You should definitely spare your child's sandbox. Because this sand has far too much clay and small parts. And that's how it should be there: After all, your offspring would like this sand to "bake" nicely in order to build a great sandcastle.
If you apply sand like this to your lawn - and you already have firm, loamy soil - you'll do the exact opposite of what you want to accomplish, because it will compact your soil even more!
What sand is suitable for sanding the lawn?
You should choose a sand that has little to no (more) small and clay particles. The ideal sand is quartz sand that has been washed and fire-dried several times.
You can find these in different grits (sizes) and again, it depends on what exactly you want to accomplish by sanding your lawn.
If you want to use the lawn sand to loosen your soil, a grain size of 0.5 - 1.5 mm is ideal.
In rural areas, you will most likely be able to have such sand delivered to you from a well-stocked gravel pit. Alternatively, you can of course order it directly from us: To the lawn sand
🌱 How do I go about sanding the lawn?
To get the best results from sanding the lawn and really help the soil, you shouldn't just sprinkle the sand on the lawn. Of course, that doesn't help.
Ideally, you should proceed in the following steps:
✔ Mow lawn short
Scarify (or even aerify) the lawn.
✔ Thoroughly remove lawn thatch (if necessary, run again with a sickle mower with good suction).
✔ Pour sand coarsely on the lawn and then spread it with a landscape rake
✔ Use theRasenrakelwork the sand into the surface
At the latest, your lawn will look so scary that you will have tears in your eyes and doubt your decision. But already after two weeks you will see the result.
Gradually (about 14 days), the sand now seeps into the underlying soil and provides this loosening (because, simply put, between the grains of sand everywhere small cavities are created) for a natural drainage and more oxygen in the root area of the lawn. The more often you repeat the sanding, the faster you will achieve even better results and gently level your lawn.
🌱 How long does the sand stay on the lawn?
After you're done with the lawn sand, the question quickly arises as to how long it will look "so terrible." In short, it depends.
On the one hand, of course, it depends on how much sand you have used and, on the other hand, on the conditions. For example, on an already relatively even surface, you will very quickly no longer see the sand as it seeps into the ground and the sand compacts the lawn again.
However, if you have to deal with larger bumps, you may still see them for a few days. If the hollows are not too deep, the grasses will work their way through again after a few days.
However, if the holes are too deep (more than 2 cm), it is recommended to reseed these places with topsoil or special turf soil. As a rule, after 10-14 days the sand on the surface is no longer visible and the first results are not long in coming.
🌱 How can the Rasenrakel help me?
The Rasenrakel is the ideal companion for you and your garden. From the new construction of your house when laying out new garden and lawn areas, to regular sanding, to sand bunker maintenance.
Especially when laying a new lawn, the "foundation" is crucial. If you do not prepare a truly level surface, your beloved green will be a hilly landscape for a long time. With Rasenrakel you can create an absolutely even surface from the beginning in no time.
In addition, it is of course the ideal tool for regular sanding of your lawn. Due to its special manufacturing, it glides effortlessly over the grasses and protects the plants.
It is also used a great deal in civil engineering. For example, many gardening and landscaping companies tell us that they use the Rasenrakel to level driveways, gravel and grit.
It has also found its way into many cities and municipalities, which use it to maintain their sports fields and green spaces. And not only real turf fields, but also especially artificial turf fields, which are of course also sanded regularly.
💡 Which Rasenrakel is right for me?
Basically, it's a question of the area you want to work on:
The more maneuverable Rasenrakel L-80 is of course ideal for a 250 square meter front garden. However, if you want to work on a larger area instead, you are better off with the Rasenrakel XL-120. On the soccer field or golf course, the Rasenrakel XXL-160 is naturally in its preferred terrain.
But the level of your lawn is also crucial:
While you can remove the "coarser" unevenness with the Rasenrakel L-80, you can fine-tune with the wider variants and get even the smallest unevenness level due to the extremely wide contact surface. In our opinion, both large Rasenrakel are more suitable for professionals.
💡 Do I need an adapter for the Rasenrakel?
A handle adapter is basically not necessary, because the Rasenrakel is designed for any commercially available standard handle with a diameter of 2.8 cm (wood, fiberglass, etc.).
However, the handle should have a length of at least 180-200 cm in order to be able to work comfortably and to protect your back.
If you want to use the Rasenrakel with your existing Gardena, Fiskars or Wolf tool handle, this is easily possible with our adapters.
💡 Why is there no stem in the delivery?
The ideal handle for really powerful and back-friendly work with the Rasenrakel should be at least 180 cm, better even 200 cm long.
To send a stem in such a length, DHL charges us as a small retailer just under 20 EUR. And that is already within Germany. Of course, this is out of all proportion to the value of such a handle, which is available for 5-8 EUR in any hardware store.
We also strongly advise against using a plug-in or screw-on handle!
(Yes, many cheap manufacturers include such handles. Only for the reason that some useless or imported from China handle is in the package, but ultimately wobbles, is too short and quickly broken).
And of course, we have also tested such handles again and again in recent years and had to realize that although it seems to be an advantage at first moment, if directly a handle is included, but these all do not withstand the heavy load for a long time.
Honestly: You wait 2-3 days for your package. Take 5 minutes here and get the perfect handle from the hardware store. Because this should last just as long as your Rasenrakel: A lifetime!
By the way: The perfect handle - both for the Rasenrakel, and the landscape rake - we have found here: wooden tool handle - 200 cm
